I had my first visit to the dentist office on my birthday. The dentist said I was the best patient she'd had that day. I sat very still while she examined my teeth and then got to pick out a prize...I picked a rubber duckie. That was all and good, but I was particularly impressed with the fishies in the big tank and the Elmo scuba diver (look closely and you'll see him!).
Happy Birthday to ME, cousin Caleb and Great Aunt Sharon! I had a busy, fun-filled day. After my morning visit with the dentist, Mom and Dad took me to Outback Steakhouse for my birthday lunch. When they found out it was my birthday, the server brought me my very own ice cream sundae (which I quite generously shared with Mom and Dad since they were eying it up). After going to the restaurant, we ventured to the Mall of America to see my friend, Dora, she's an explorer. While M&D didn't get me a pony for my birthday, they did let me ride one on the carousel as well as go way up high on the ferris wheel. The day was topped off with a trip to the library where I always seem to make new friends.
Wow! Had I known how much fun birthdays parties can be, I'd have asked Mom and Dad to throw one for me earlier. I had lots of fun opening presents and chatting with all of my grandparents and Aunt Katie. And, cake! After blowing out my candle, I got to have a whole piece just for myself! After taking a post-festivities nap, Mom and Dad took me for a ride in my new wagon.
We celebrated my big cousin Caleb's birthday today. He'll be THREE the same day I turn ONE! Pretty cool, huh? It was my first time hitting the lanes. I found that the colorful balls and the hand blower were all the excitement I needed and left the bowling to the 'professionals' (look at those muscles on Caleb!). All that fun sure worked up an appetite and thankfully Caleb shared a piece of his yummy cake with me.
Mom and Dad finally got the hint that I no longer wanted to sit in the highchair. Granted, I gave them some not-so-subtle hints...fussing when they wanted to put my in it and making a mess by stuffing lots of food in my lap and in the seat. The result? A comfy new booster seat that ponies right on up to the table. Mom also bought me some spankin' new tableware items. It's been a good week!
